Robert F. Albrecht of Harrisburg, PA passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020.  After months of a courageous battle with cancer, he died peacefully and with much love at his home with his beloved wife, Patricia, his children and grandchildren by his side.

Robert (Bob) was born on March 15, 1937 in Little Falls, NY to Harriet and Frank Albrecht and grew up with his older sister, Shirley (Neth) and younger brother, David.  When Bob was just 17, he met and fell in love with the love of his life, Patricia Ann (Brown).  They were married on August 3, 1957 – at just 18 and 20 years old – almost inseparable for nearly 63 years of marriage.  Bob and Patricia are a true love story, one that emulates the song, “Grow Old Along with Me”. Within a year and a half, they welcomed their first child, Lori Ellen (Everest), followed 2 years later by Donna Lyn (Reese) and seven years later, Scott Albrecht.

Bob worked as a draftsman in the early years but was also a talented carpenter.  He built the family homes for his growing family as well as for others.  Bob had a passion for cars… fast cars, and he began drag racing in 1964 at Fonda and Cicero in New York State.  For 5 years, Patricia and his daughters watched him win time after time as he broke the Cicero track record of ¼ mile at 120 mph in 10.6 seconds in 1966.

In 1973, Bob and family moved to Harrisburg, PA, where he worked at AMP, Inc. and TYCO.  He retired at the age of 76.  Bob also continued his love of building and went into the contracting business (R & A Builders) with his son-in-law, Steve Reese, building houses in the Harrisburg area including the home that he and Patricia have lived in for the past 35 years.

Bob was a devout Christian, a Catholic and member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a loyal and very active member of St. Vincent De Paul for over 25 years serving as treasurer and president, working to help those in need. Bob was a Respect Life advocate.

A devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Bob was there for his family including all the games, talent shows, swim meets, recitals, programs and graduations – everything that means so much.  His family was his passion.

Throughout the years, Bob has enjoyed building furniture, boating, camping, hunting and fishing, community and church life.  He loved music and he and Patricia were ever present at all of his granddaughter, Erica’s many music performances and was noted for suggesting new songs and venues.

Bob graduated from Little Falls High School in NY, attended Morrisville College, and received his bachelor’s degree from Penn State University.  He was Judge of Elections for Lower Paxton Township for 12 years, past president of the Kiwanis Club, a member of Hunters and Anglers, the Blue Moon Cruisers, and Hershey Region Antique Car Club of America.

A strong patriarch of our family, he was gentle and wise, generous with his time, kind and a true gentleman.  He is loved and will be missed by many!

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Harriet and Frank Albrecht and his granddaughter, Alexandra Faith Albrecht.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Ann, Harrisburg, PA; children, Lori Ellen Everest and husband, Mark Everest; Donna Lyn Reese and husband, Stephen Reese, and Scott Patrick Albrecht and wife, Stephanie Albrecht.  Grandchildren, Marcus Everest and Erica Everest, Lindsey Reese and wife, Tammy Reese, Jessica Reese Marchand and husband, Brian Marchand, Danielle Barnes and husband, James Barnes, and Elizabeth Albrecht.  Great-grandchildren, Jacob Reese, Lukas Reese, Brody Reese, Jackson Marchand, Savannah Marchand, Jude Everest, Aiden Albrecht, James Banes and Dean Barnes.  Bob is also survived by his brother, David Albrecht of Ilion, NY, Shirley Neth of Ballston Spa, NY as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other beloved relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Harrisburg, PA on Friday, July 31, 2020 at 2:00 PM.  Visitation will be at 1:00.  Social distancing will be observed. Interment will be at later date with family present.

Contributions can be made to Holy Name St. Vincent De Paul Society or Hospice of Central PA.

The Sullivan Funeral Home is honored to serve the Albrecht family.

  1. Bob & I joined the Knights together back in 2001. He was very inspirational to talk to, especially when talked about the Vincent dePaul Society or his family. I have lost touch with him over these past few years. Bob…rest in God’s peace. To the Albrecht family, may you find comfort in the fact that Bob is now enjoying his eternal reward.

  2. We met Bob and Trish thru boating on the Susquehanna River and have remained friends. We shared many boat rides, breakfasts, dinners, celebrations, and car shows together. Bob will be missed and we cherish the times we spent with him.
    Rest in peace my friend.

  3. Bob Albrecht is the most fitting model of a life well lived. His devotion to his wife and family was always evident and the many years of selfless energy he gave to his church and community are exemplary. Larry and I are proud to have shared many special times working and celebrating with him. And we feel lucky to have called him friend. Rest in peace, Robert. You have earned a special place at the Lord’s table!?❤
